Anyway you can setup the permissions so that a owner or creator of a post can delete a thread?

But we choose not to. There's no need to delete anything. If you don't think it should be said, don't say it.

As an aside, If you chose Edit, there is an option there to delete your post, below the reply. Though I don't know if that is available to non-Moderators.

Dont understand your logic about deletes. Never seen a message board without a delete option. And no when we hit edit we cannot delete.

No biggie i was just wondering why.

When you hit the edit button you can just remove all your text or whatever, but the thread remains active, it would just be empty.
